Flexcar opens Auburn office and car pickup location; announces all-inclusive monthly car plans
BOSTON, May 15, 2023 — Flexcar, the smart alternative to car ownership, today announced that the company is expanding outside of the Greater Boston area with the opening of its Auburn facility. Flexcar is also unveiling all-inclusive monthly plans for Massachusetts drivers, designed to offer a more affordable and convenient alternative to traditional car ownership.
“Over the last two years, Flexcar has grown from one to four Boston area locations, demonstrating along the way the incredible demand for a more flexible and affordable alternative to buying or leasing a car,” said Corey Lewis, CMO at Flexcar. “As Flexcar expands beyond the Boston area and designs new monthly plans, we’re confident that drivers across Massachusetts will love choosing their cars on the Flexcar website or mobile app, specifying where they’d like to pick them up, and driving them for as long as they’d like.”
Located at 525 Washington Street, Flexcar’s Auburn location has more than 25,000 square feet of office space, and will be home to more than 300 Flexcars. The Auburn location will open with nine employees, with Flexcar planning to double staff in the coming year.
Starting today, customers of Flexcar’s Massachusetts locations will have access to the company’s new all-inclusive monthly plans, which include miles, insurance, maintenance, roadside assistance, title, inspection, the ability to swap cars, and more. With Flexcar’s new plans, Massachusetts residents can save 90% upfront compared to the costs of buying or leasing a car, and up to 20% on monthly payments.
Flexcar is announcing its expansion into Auburn and new monthly plans during a time of significant growth for the company in Massachusetts. Since Flexcar launched in 2021, Boston-area customers have driven more than 15 million miles in Flexcars. Flexcar also opened a new headquarters in Boston’s Seaport District in 2022, and has hired more than 100 people in Massachusetts.
