BOSTON, June 5, 2023 — Flexcar, the smart alternative to car ownership, today announced that the company is sponsoring the Pickle4 Ballpark Series™ at Fenway Park. Taking place July 13 through 16, the event will feature professional and amateur pickleball tournament competitions as well as open play.
“The Pickle4 Ballpark Series at Fenway Park is an opportunity for people in Boston to engage with the sport, build community, and also learn about innovative local businesses,” said Mike Dee, Chairman & Co-Founder of Pickleball4America, a company focused on developing businesses around pickleball that launched the Pickle4 Ballpark Series. “As a Boston-headquartered company that’s quickly growing in popularity, we’re thrilled to have Flexcar as an inaugural sponsor of this incredible event.”
Players can participate in the Ballpark Series two different ways. The first will be to reserve court time for an 80-minute session for up to ten players. In addition, for those amateurs who want to compete for an inaugural Pickle4 Ballpark Series™ medal, there will be doubles championships at skill levels 3.5 and up.
“With pickleball emerging as a favorite sport amongst our customers and employees, sponsoring Boston’s marquee pickleball event was a natural choice,” said Corey Lewis, CMO of Flexcar. “We look forward to seeing thousands of people at Fenway Park, and getting the word out about why drivers in Massachusetts are choosing Flexcar over buying or leasing a vehicle.”
Flexcar is announcing the Pickle4 Ballpark Series sponsorship during a time of significant growth for the company in Massachusetts. Since Flexcar launched in 2021, Boston-area customers have driven more than 15 million miles in Flexcars. In 2023, Flexcar announced an expansion outside the Greater Boston area with the opening of its Auburn facility, and also unveiled a partnership with Marcus Smart and the Boston Celtics. Flexcar’s headquarters is located in the Seaport District, and the company has hired more than 100 people across Massachusetts.
